FEIA (Fluorescence Enzyme Immunoassay) – quantitative determination of specific immunoglobulin E.

Description

This test detects increased sensitivity of the body to rodent allergens, which is important for diagnosing allergic diseases.

The test includes the following analyses:

e6 guinea pig epithelium;
e82 rabbit epithelium;
e84 hamster epithelium;
e87 rat epithelium + serum/urine proteins;
e88 mouse epithelium + serum/urine proteins.

Indications

Suspected sensitization to epidermal allergens in children and adults.
Examination for allergy symptoms: eye redness and burning, eyelid swelling, tearing, sneezing, nasal congestion, runny nose, nasal itching, cough, shortness of breath, bronchospasm, allergic dermatitis.
When skin allergy tests cannot be performed.

Preparation

Blood should be drawn in the morning on an empty stomach or 4 hours after eating.
Drinking plain still water is allowed.
Do not smoke for 30 minutes before the test.
For children under 1 year – no food 30-40 minutes before the test; for children 1-5 years – 2-3 hours fasting.

Clinical Significance

This test helps identify sensitization (increased sensitivity) to rodent allergens, which can cause type I (immediate) allergic reactions. Detecting specific IgE allows precise identification of the allergy "trigger" and enables effective treatment and preventive measures. Sensitization to animal allergens often causes respiratory allergy symptoms such as allergic rhinitis, bronchial asthma, as well as allergic dermatitis and urticaria.
