Cauliflower (Brassica oleracea var. botrytis) is an annual vegetable crop from the cruciferous family, forming characteristic heads resembling inflorescences. This test allows detection of an allergic reaction to this plant.
Allergy to cauliflower is rare but can cause serious symptoms including rash, itching, cough, nausea, diarrhea, and anaphylaxis. There is a risk of cross-reactivity with other cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and mustard.
FEIA (Fluorescence Enzyme Immunoassay), ImmunoCAP (Solid-phase Immunofluorescence) – quantitative determination of sensitization.
