This test determines the body's sensitization to allergens of major citrus fruits. The analysis helps identify allergic reactions, assess the level of hypersensitivity, and the risk of allergy development. Special attention is given to allergenic proteins that remain active even after cooking and can cause severe systemic symptoms such as anaphylactic shock. The test results have important clinical significance for diagnosis, therapy monitoring, and prevention of allergic reactions.

This analysis includes the following allergens: f33 orange, f208 lemon, f209 grapefruit, f302 mandarin.

Orange contains proteins Cit s1, Cit s2 (profilin), and Cit s3 (lipid transfer protein), which cause allergic reactions of varying severity, including anaphylactic shock. Lemon contains allergenic components Cit l1 and Cit l3 (LTP), which may cause cross-reactivity with peach and other fruits of the Rosaceae family. Grapefruitcan cause allergy due to cross-reaction with other citrus fruits and latex, and also affect drug metabolism. Mandarin contains a potent allergen Cit r3, which can also cause cross-reactions. Identifying these proteins helps determine individual allergic sensitivity and select a safe diet and treatment.

  • Diagnosis of allergic reactions to citrus fruits.
  • Assessment of sensitization level and risk of allergy development.
  • Monitoring reduction of sensitization after allergen avoidance and therapy.
  • Evaluation of immune system status.

FEIA (Fluorescent Enzyme Immunoassay), ImmunoCAP (Solid-phase Immunofluorescence) – quantitative determination.

Please note that the research method and reference values may vary depending on the equipment and test systems used.
