The test detects allergic reactions to a vegetable mix including tomato, spinach, cabbage, and pepper. The analysis allows assessment of the level of sensitization, risk of allergy development, and effectiveness of the therapy performed.
Tomato allergens (profilin Lyc e1, polygalacturonase Lyc e2, lipid transfer protein Lyc e3, and others) cause various allergic reactions, including oral allergy syndrome and anaphylaxis. Cross-reactions may occur with other plants of the Solanaceae family, latex, and food products. Spinach causes both food and pollen allergies, manifesting seasonally or persistently. Cabbage contains allergens that can trigger inflammatory reactions, and pepper contains panallergens that cross-react with pollen and other allergens. The test helps identify specific allergens and assess health risks for the patient.
FEIA (Fluorescence Enzyme Immunoassay, ImmunoCAP (Solid-phase Immunofluorescence)) – quantitative determination of sensitization to allergens.
