Determining sensitization to these fruits is important for diagnosing latex-fruit syndrome, which is often accompanied by severe allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis. The test allows assessment of the risk of cross-reactivity, for example, between banana, latex, birch pollen, mango, and other plants. Early detection of sensitization facilitates timely treatment and reduces allergen exposure.
