Peach – a plant from the Rosaceae family, common in warm temperate regions. The fruits of the peach tree – peaches and nectarines – are popular food products. The allergen component Pru p3 is a lipid transfer protein (LTP) that causes sensitization and can trigger severe allergic reactions. Determining specific IgE to rPru p3 helps diagnose peach allergy and assess the risk of systemic reactions.

Peach is a common allergen causing both local (oral allergy syndrome) and systemic reactions (hives, bronchial asthma, anaphylactic shock).
