Plantain (Plantago) – a genus of annual and perennial herbs of the plantain family, including over 200 species. Ribwort plantain (Plantago lanceolata) is a common cause of allergy, especially weed pollen allergy in temperate climates.

Pla l1 is the major allergen component of ribwort plantain and a marker of true sensitization to the pollen of this species. It has limited clinically insignificant cross-reactivity with other Ole e1-like proteins. Sensitization to Pla l1 is observed in a significant portion of patients allergic to plantain. This molecular allergen is thermostable and plays an important role in pollen tube development. The test helps accurately determine the level of sensitization and supports effective allergy treatment.

  • Diagnosis of allergic reactions.
  • Assessment of sensitization level and risk of allergy development.
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of ongoing therapy.
  • Assessment of sensitization level after allergen avoidance.
  • Evaluation of immune system status.

FEIA (Fluorescence Enzyme Immunoassay) – fluorescent enzyme immunoassay, ImmunoCAP (Immunofluorescence on solid phase) – quantitative determination.

Please note that the research method and reference values may vary depending on the equipment and test systems used.
