Cor a14 – a storage protein, 2S albumin – an allergen component found in hazelnuts (Corylus avellana). Resistant to heat treatment and gastrointestinal digestion. Cor a14 is associated with the risk of severe, systemic allergic reactions to hazelnuts. It is often a primary marker of serious allergy in patients.

The allergen component Cor a14 is important for diagnosing true, severe hazelnut allergy. The test helps identify the risk of severe reactions and adjust therapy accordingly.
