rCan f1 is a dog allergen component, a protein from the lipocalin family, found in dog hair, dander, and saliva, but absent in its serum. Can f1 is one of the main allergen components causing allergic reactions in people who have contact with dogs. This protein can remain airborne for a long time, making it especially hazardous for allergy sufferers.

FEIA (Fluorescence Enzyme Immunoassay) – a fluorescent enzyme immunoassay that provides quantitative determination of the allergen component.

  • Diagnosis of allergic reactions related to dogs.
  • Assessment of sensitization level and risk of allergy development.
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of ongoing therapy.
  • Evaluation of sensitization level after eliminating contact with the allergen.
  • Assessment of immune system status.

  • Blood should be drawn in the morning on an empty stomach or 4 hours after eating.
  • Drinking plain still water is allowed.
  • Do not smoke for 30 minutes before the test.
  • For children under 1 year – do not eat 30-40 minutes before the test; for children aged 1-5 years – 2-3 hours fasting.

The Can f1 allergen component is key in the development of dog allergies. Sensitization to it is associated with increased severity of asthma symptoms in both children and adults. Measuring IgE levels to Can f1 allows precise identification of patients allergic to dogs and monitoring of therapy effectiveness. Can f1 particles are small and can remain airborne for a long time, increasing the risk of allergic reactions even in homes without dogs. Recombinant Can f1 is immunologically consistent with the natural allergen and serves as a reliable marker for molecular diagnostics.
