Raisins are dried grapes and a natural sweet treat. Although raisins are not considered a common food allergen, they can cause allergic reactions in sensitive individuals. This test helps detect sensitization to raisin allergens, aiding in the diagnosis and management of allergic conditions.

FEIA (Fluorescence Enzyme Immunoassay), ImmunoCAP (Solid-phase Immunofluorescence) – quantitative determination of sensitization levels.

  • Diagnosis of allergic reactions to dried fruits.
  • Assessment of sensitization levels and allergy risk.
  • Monitoring treatment effectiveness.
  • Evaluation of sensitization levels after allergen avoidance.
  • Assessment of immune system status.

  • Blood should be drawn in the morning on an empty stomach or 4 hours after eating.
  • Drinking plain still water is allowed.
  • Do not smoke for 30 minutes before the test.
  • For children under 1 year – fast for 30-40 minutes before the test; for children aged 1-5 years – fast for 2-3 hours.

Raisin allergy is rare but can present with a variety of symptoms that are sometimes difficult to diagnose. In children, allergy symptoms include tearing, sneezing, runny nose, abdominal cramps, skin itching, facial redness, and oropharyngeal symptoms (itching, tingling in the mouth and throat). In some cases, the allergy can cause respiratory distress. It is important to also rule out mold allergy, which may accompany sensitization to raisins.
