Pumpkin seeds (f226)1586
Pumpkin (Cucurbita pepo) – an annual plant of the Cucurbitaceae family, known for its large orange fruits. Pumpkin seeds are white, smooth, oval, and widely used in food. Determining sensitization to pumpkin seeds helps diagnose allergic reactions and assess the risk of their development.
Pumpkin seeds contain allergenic components Cuc ma4 and Cuc ma5, which, according to WHO/IUIS data, can cause cross-reactive allergic reactions with melon seeds, cashew nuts, and birch. Identifying these markers allows for diagnosis and monitoring of allergic conditions related to pumpkin seeds.
- Diagnosis of allergic reactions to pumpkin seeds.
- Assessment of sensitization level and allergy risk.
- Monitoring therapy effectiveness.
- Assessment of sensitization level after allergen avoidance.
- Evaluation of immune system status.
FEIA (Fluorescence Enzyme Immunoassay), ImmunoCAP (Solid-phase Immunofluorescence) – quantitative determination of sensitization to an allergen.
Please note that the research method and reference values may vary depending on the equipment and test systems used.
