Hymenoptera of the genus Vespula – social wasps living in the Northern Hemisphere, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. The test detects the presence and level of specific IgE antibodies to wasp venom, which is important for diagnosing allergic reactions.

Wasp stings cause a significant proportion of severe anaphylactic reactions in adults and children. The risk of recurrent anaphylaxis is 30-70%. Sensitization to wasp venom is often accompanied by cross-reactivity with other hymenoptera venoms. The test helps identify Ves v1 and Ves v5 markers, which are key for accurate diagnosis and subsequent allergy treatment.

  • Diagnosis of allergic reactions to wasp stings.
  • Assessment of sensitization level and risk of allergy development.
  • Monitoring therapy effectiveness.
  • Assessment of sensitization level after allergen avoidance.
  • Evaluation of immune system status.

FEIA (Fluorescence Enzyme Immunoassay, ImmunoCAP) – quantitative determination of sensitization level.

Please note that the research method and reference values may vary depending on the equipment and test systems used.
