FEIA (Fluorescence Enzyme Immunoassay, ImmunoCAP) – quantitative determination of sensitization to nutmeg allergen.

  • Diagnosis of allergic reactions to nutmeg.
  • Assessment of sensitization level and risk of allergy development.
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of ongoing therapy.
  • Evaluation of sensitization level after allergen avoidance.
  • Assessment of immune system status.

  • Blood should be drawn in the morning on an empty stomach or 4 hours after eating.

Nutmeg is widely used in cooking and traditional medicine but can cause allergic reactions in sensitive individuals. The test helps identify sensitization, which is important for preventing allergic symptoms and managing treatment. Nutmeg oils have therapeutic properties but can be toxic if consumed excessively.
