The molecular panel "Meadow Grasses No.1" includes the determination of specific IgE to allergenic components of Timothy grass (Phleum pratense). This panel helps diagnose allergic reactions to meadow grass pollen, which is one of the main causes of seasonal allergies in temperate climates.

This panel includes the following allergenic components: rPhl p1 Timothy grass (g205), rPhl p7 Timothy grass (g210), rPhl p12 Timothy grass (g212), rPhl p5b Timothy grass (g215).

Timothy grass is one of the most common meadow grasses, whose pollen causes seasonal allergic reactions, including hay fever.

rPhl p1 – the major allergenic component of Timothy grass, identified in over 90% of patients allergic to grass pollen. It has high cross-reactivity among all grass species.
rPhl p7 – a minor allergenic component of Timothy grass pollen from the polcalcins panallergen family. Sensitization occurs in 7-10% of patients and is associated with more severe allergy and asthma.
rPhl p12 – a minor molecular allergen of Timothy grass pollen from the profilin family. Sensitization is detected in about 15% of patients and may be linked to pollen-food syndrome.
rPhl p5b – a major species-specific molecular allergen of Timothy grass. Sensitization is found in 65-95% of patients allergic to grass pollen.

Determining specific IgE to Timothy grass allergenic components helps accurately diagnose the cause of allergy and select effective treatment.

  • Diagnosis of allergic diseases: bronchial asthma, hay fever, atopic dermatitis.
  • Differential diagnosis of allergy to meadow grass pollen and cross-reactivity with other plant allergens.
  • Selection of patients for allergen-specific immunotherapy (ASIT).
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of ongoing ASIT.

FEIA (Fluorescent Enzyme Immunoassay, ImmunoCAP) – quantitative determination of specific IgE.

Please note that the research method and reference values may vary depending on the equipment and test systems used.

  • Blood should be drawn in the morning on an empty stomach or 4 hours after eating.
  • Drinking plain still water is allowed.
  • Do not smoke for 30 minutes before the test.
  • For children under 1 year – no food 30-40 minutes before the test; for children 1-5 years – 2-3 hours fasting.
