Aspergillus fumigatus – a mold fungus from the Ascomycetes group, which is one of the most common pathogens of the Aspergillus genus. It is widely found in the environment, especially in hay, grains, and decayed plants. Infections caused by Aspergillus are usually transmitted via airborne droplets and can cause various forms of pulmonary aspergillosis as well as allergic reactions.

Aspergillus fumigatus forms a branched mycelium and spreads through resilient spores. About 20 Aspergillus species are opportunistic pathogens for humans. This fungus most commonly causes chronic infections of the sinuses, eyes, and lungs, as well as various forms of aspergillosis: acute infectious, saprophytic, and allergic bronchopulmonary. The test for detecting IgG to Aspergillus fumigatus helps differentiate infection and monitor treatment.

  • Diagnosis of allergic reactions.
  • Assessment of sensitization level and risk of allergy development.
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of therapy.
  • Evaluation of sensitization level after allergen exposure has been eliminated.
  • Assessment of immune system status.
  • Diagnosis of pulmonary aspergillosis.

FEIA (Fluorescence Enzyme Immunoassay) – a fluorescent enzyme immunoassay that allows quantitative determination of IgG antibody levels.

Please note that the research method and reference values may vary depending on the equipment and test systems used.

  • Drinking plain still water is allowed.
  • Do not smoke for 30 minutes before the test.
