Lime (f306)0543
Lime is a small lemon-like green citrus fruit widely used in the food industry, cooking, and cosmetics. It is a rich source of vitamin C and is used in the form of juice, syrup, jam, marinades, and flavorings. However, in sensitive individuals, lime can cause allergic reactions, including contact dermatitis and urticaria. The test allows detection of the level of sensitization to this allergen.
FEIA (Fluorescence Enzyme Immunoassay), ImmunoCAP (Solid-phase Immunofluorescence) – quantitative determination of sensitization.
- Diagnosis of allergic reactions to lime.
- Assessment of sensitization level and risk of allergy development.
- Monitoring therapy effectiveness.
- Evaluation of sensitization level after allergen avoidance.
- Assessment of immune system status.
- Blood should be drawn in the morning on an empty stomach or 4 hours after eating.
- Drinking plain still water is allowed.
- Do not smoke for 30 minutes before the test.
- For children under 1 year – no food 30-40 minutes before the test; for children 1-5 years – 2-3 hours fasting.
Lime is cultivated in tropical regions worldwide and has wide applications in the food, cosmetic, and perfume industries. Although allergic reactions to lime are uncommon, they can manifest as contact dermatitis, urticaria, or phototoxic dermatitis upon exposure to sunlight. The test helps detect sensitization and prevent complications.
