Mosquito bite allergy can cause not only local wounds and swelling but also systemic allergic reactions to proteins found in the insect's body. Female mosquitoes, which bite humans to obtain the protein necessary for egg laying, can trigger a variety of allergic symptoms ranging from mild to severe.

Mosquito bites cause various reactions: from toxic (redness, slight swelling) to allergic with significant swelling, itching, rash, fever, diarrhea, vomiting, lymph node enlargement, and other symptoms. It is especially important to diagnose allergic reactions to prevent complications such as Skeeter syndrome, urticaria, or angioedema.

  • Diagnosis of allergic reactions to mosquito bites.
  • Assessment of sensitization level and risk of allergy development.
  • Monitoring therapy effectiveness.
  • Assessment of sensitization level after allergen avoidance.
  • Evaluation of immune system status.

FEIA (Fluorescence Enzyme Immunoassay), ImmunoCAP (Solid-phase Immunofluorescence) – quantitative determination of sensitization level.
