Gelatin is a mixture of animal-derived proteins that forms a jelly-like substance when boiling tendons, ligaments, bones, and other collagen-containing tissues. It is used in medicine to treat nutritional disorders, in pharmacology for the production of capsules and suppositories, and in the food industry for making confectionery, ice cream, and other products.

- Diagnosis of allergic reactions to gelatin.
- Assessment of sensitization level and risk of allergy development.
- Monitoring the effectiveness of ongoing therapy.
- Evaluation of sensitization after allergen avoidance.
- Assessment of immune system status.
- Have blood drawn in the morning on an empty stomach or 4 hours after eating.
- Drinking plain still water is allowed.
- Do not smoke for 30 minutes before the test.
- For children under 1 year – do not feed 30-40 minutes before the test; for children 1-5 years – 2-3 hours fasting.
The test allows detection of gelatin allergy, which is an important factor in selecting effective therapy.
