This test detects sensitization to a mixture of food products. The test helps diagnose allergic reactions, assess the level of sensitization and risk of allergy development, as well as monitor the effectiveness of therapy.
This analysis includes the following allergens: f20 almond, f84 kiwi, f87 melon, f92 banana, f259 grape.
Almond contains several major allergenic proteins, such as AMP (amandin) and heat-stable Pru du 2S albumin, which are responsible for allergy development and cross-reactions with other nuts and seeds. Kiwi can cause both true and false allergies due to proteins and external substances on the fruit’s skin. Melon has several allergenic components, including profilins and lipid transfer proteins, which cause cross-reactions with other fruits and pollen. Banana is characterized by allergens from the profilin group and proteins associated with latex allergy, potentially causing severe reactions. Grape contains LTP Vit v1, which can trigger severe allergic reactions and LTP syndrome, associated with cross-allergy to plants of the Rosaceae family.
FEIA (Fluorescence Enzyme Immunoassay, ImmunoCAP (Solid-phase Immunofluorescence)) – quantitative determination of allergens.
