FibroTest – liver fibrosis assessment test1167
The test includes 8 biochemical analyses: total, direct, and indirect bilirubin (protected from light), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT), apolipoprotein A1, alpha-2-macroglobulin, and haptoglobin. Results are processed using the METAVIR system, which reflects fibrosis stages from F0 to F4, widely accepted worldwide.
FibroTest is a set of calculated tests based on a mathematical model (biopredictive program, France) for assessing the degree of liver fibrosis using biochemical indicators from venous blood.
- Diagnosis of fatty liver disease
- Detection and monitoring of liver fibrosis and cirrhosis
- Monitoring liver condition in chronic viral hepatitis
- Blood collection in the morning on an empty stomach between 8 and 11 a.m., 12 hours after the last meal
- Avoid fatty foods 24 hours before the test
- For children under 1 year – no food 30-40 minutes before the test
- For children 1-5 years – no food 2-3 hours before the test
- Drink 1-2 glasses of plain still water shortly before blood collection
- Blood collection should be done before taking medications; indicate medication intake in the referral
- Avoid physical exertion, emotional stress, and do not smoke 30 minutes before the test
FibroTest allows accurate determination of the presence and degree of liver fibrosis, which is important for predicting disease progression and selecting treatment. The test is especially useful for patients with chronic hepatitis, as it helps assess the risk of cirrhosis development and long-term mortality related to liver diseases.
