• Exclude intake of cocoa, black tea, coffee, licorice, and alcohol 24 hours before the test.
• Blood should be drawn fasting in the morning; drinking plain still water is allowed.
• At least 12 hours should pass since the last meal.
• Do not smoke for 30 minutes before the test.
• Children under 1 year should not eat 30-40 minutes before the test.
• Children aged 1 to 3 years should not eat 2-3 hours before the test.
• Limit physical and emotional stress for 30 minutes before the test.
• With doctor’s approval, discontinue medications 12 hours before the test.
