Budgerigar feathers (e78)0007
Budgerigar feathers are a potent inhalant allergen that causes allergic reactions upon contact with air or surfaces contaminated with the allergen. Allergen particles can be carried on clothing, so contact with them is possible in various environments. Allergic reactions include skin redness, rashes, hives, itching, swelling, as well as respiratory symptoms such as cough, shortness of breath, and bronchospasm.
Determination of sensitization to budgerigar feathers is carried out based on serum analysis using modern enzyme immunoassay techniques, ensuring high accuracy and specificity of the results.
- Diagnosis of allergic diseases: food allergy, atopic dermatitis, bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis, respiratory allergy.
- Assessment of the risk of developing allergic reactions to budgerigar feathers.
- Blood should be drawn in the morning on an empty stomach or 4 hours after eating.
- Drinking plain still water is allowed.
- Do not smoke for 30 minutes before the test.
- For children under 1 year old – do not eat 30-40 minutes before the test; for children aged 1-5 years – 2-3 hours fasting.
The test allows determination of the presence and degree of sensitization to budgerigar feathers, which is important for the diagnosis and treatment of allergic diseases. The test results help doctors develop individualized therapy and prevention plans, as well as assess the risk of complications.
