Angiotensin-20194
Angiotensin-2 is a peptide formed from angiotensin-1 with the involvement of angiotensin-converting enzyme. Its level is regulated by blood pressure, circulating blood volume, sodium level, renin, and aldosterone. Angiotensin-2 participates in the regulation of blood pressure, electrolyte balance, body fluid volume, and maintenance of homeostasis.
RIA (Radio-Immunoassay) – quantitative determination of angiotensin-2.
- Determining the role of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system in the pathogenesis of arterial hypertension
- Diagnosis of chronic heart failure
- Assessment of edema syndrome
Blood sampling in the morning on an empty stomach or 12 hours after the last meal. Drinking plain still water is allowed. Do not smoke 30 minutes before the test. For children under 1 year – no food 30-40 minutes before the test; for children 1-5 years – 2-3 hours. Avoid taking medications 12 hours before the test (in consultation with a doctor), alcohol 24 hours before, as well as physical and emotional stress 24 hours before. If possible, discontinue renin inhibitors 7 days before the test.
Determination of angiotensin-2, together with other indicators of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, is important for identifying the causes of arterial hypertension and assessing the cardiovascular system's condition. This test aids in the diagnosis and monitoring of treatment in patients with cardiovascular diseases.
