This test is aimed at detecting allergic reactions to the main group of antibiotics. The test results help avoid dangerous allergic reactions during treatment.
This panel includes the following drugs: Ampicillin, Amoxicillin, Doxycycline, Penicillin V, Penicillin G, Cefaclor, Ciprofloxacin, Gentamicin.
Drug allergies occur in 2% of cases during treatment, and up to 30% among healthcare workers. Approximately 50% of all drug allergies are due to antibacterial agents. The most common manifestations are urticaria, angioedema, and potentially severe anaphylactic reactions. The test covers the most common antibiotics used in both outpatient and inpatient treatment settings.
